Zelda: Majora’s Mask Music Preserved In Upcoming Remake For 3DS

My Nintendo News

Nintendo composer Koji Kondo has revealed that Nintendo has preserved the music of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask in the upcoming remake for Nintendo 3DS. However, the title did go through some rebalancing to make its audio more suitable for a hand-held device such as the 3DS. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is scheduled to launch in spring 2015.

“Actually, with Majora, we thought it was really important to protect the feeling of the game because the music was tied so well to the original gameplay,” said Kondo. “We’ve done some clean up on the audio quality, but the music itself we haven’t changed.

“We did some rebalancing, of course, to make it sound good on the Nintendo 3DS. Before you were hearing it out of you…

Happy Birthday, Satoru Iwata

My Nintendo News

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata is celebrating his 55th Birthday today so I’d like to take some time out to wish him a very Happy Birthday. There’s been a few that have been disappointed at some of Satoru Iwata’s decisions, but there’s no doubt that he’s done a great job at delivering high quality AAA titles. Both Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros are two of the highest rated games this year so he’s clearly doing something right. Happy Birthday, Satoru Iwata!

Sonic Boom TV Series Appears To Be Doing Fairly Well

My Nintendo News

The Sonic Boom games on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U have stirred up all mixed opinions from Sonic fans, but the TV show that the games are based on appears to be doing quite well. Data provided by TV By The Numbers shows that the cartoon is holding its own against the competition and sits at the number one spot on Saturday mornings. This in turn should help boost the game’s sales.

Saturday Morning saw year-to-year gains among all targeted demos, ranging from +9% to +17%. Sonic Boom (7a) and Pokemon the Series XY (8a) premieres ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 6-11/9-14. Premieres of both series were up across all targeted demos vs. the same time period year ago, ranging from +46% to +73%.

Nintendo has now updated the Wii U firmware to version 5.3.2. Before you go expecting anything grand it should be noted that it’s simply a stability update with no additional features. Sakurai Says He Might Be Done With Super Smash Bros

My Nintendo News

Super Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has once again claimed that he might be done with the Super Smash Bros franchise. Sakurai believes that he has delivered all he could in the well-received Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of the game and is not sure how he could improve on them. Here’s what he had to say.

“I can’t positively declare there won’t be [another Smash Bros. game]. With both Melee and Brawl, I made those games with the thought that there wouldn’t be any more sequels. Thus, I really can’t deny the chance for another.

“However, as for myself, I don’t think there will be.”

“Our intention [with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U] was to provide extra merits to the game which go far beyond the sale price,” he said. “In terms of scope, and in terms of sheer number of characters, we went beyond our limits long…
